About UNI & the Surrounding Community

The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) is a public university in Cedar Falls, Iowa, founded in 1876. Known for its foundation in teacher education, UNI offers over 90 majors across five colleges to roughly 9,000 students, with top-tier programs in business, STEM, and health. It is known for small class sizes, affordability, and a student-centered focus.
Cedar Falls is a vibrant, historic college town in Black Hawk County. It is known for its scenic downtown district, technological infrastructure, and the Cedar River and forms part of the "Cedar Valley" region with neighboring Waterloo. It offers a mix of academic, cultural, and outdoor activities. Plus, there are 110+ miles of trails, acres of parks, unique dining experiences and a wide variety of events.
There are two local churches who invest deeply into the ministry of Campus Christian Fellowship. Cedar Falls Christian Church and River’s Edge Christian Church are great church communities within the Restoration Movement.

Areas of Responsibility

CCF is searching for a men’s minister at the University of Northern Iowa who is passionate about discipleship with college students. Someone who thrives on discipling both individual and small group settings, who not only desires to see students grow in their faith but also to equip them to become disciple-making disciples and to be active in reaching those on campus who do not yet know Christ.
-- Discipling students in both individual relationships and small groups in order that they grow closer to God and become people who make other disciples
-- Organizing and leading the weekly CCF meetings at UNI, as well as other Bible studies and discipleship groups as needed.
-- Preparing and executing outreach and community events at UNI.
-- Assisting with retreats and camps throughout the year.
-- Visiting local churches for donor relations and prospective student outreach.
-- Collaborating with the campus ministers from UI and ISU on their campuses or assisting the director with statewide initiatives, as requested.
